My Legacy to Mother
Earth
However, now as a teen, I have
decided where to start my legacy; and that is none other than my legacy to our
Mother Earth. You might wonder why. Well, the reason is just simple. It is
because I have realized that I will not be able to fulfill all my other dreams
without the safety of my own planet.
I have also come to the point where I really fell in love with our Mother Earth. I fell in love with all of its greatness and precious creations of God living on it. I fell in love with my own planet who is the only planet in our solar system to support life.
Now, the question is how I am supposed to fulfill my legacy to Mother Earth? How can a teenager like me make a difference in either saving or preserving our Mother Earth?
I know that as a teen, it would be quite difficult for me to make a legacy to our Mother Earth, but still I can say that I can. In making a legacy, for me, it does not take only one person to do it. It needs lots of cooperation.
Thus, I can say that just by
throwing garbage to the proper trash bins, separating biodegradable from
non-biodegradable, using the 3-R’s (Reduce, Reuse and Recycle), joining voluntary
tree-planting projects, and becoming a member of the Youth for Environment in Schools Organization
(Yes-O) of our school, and applying this to my daily living becomes my legacy
to Mother Earth.
God proclaimed himself as the father of all people; and the Earth is
our mother. We are indeed their children. Mother Earth is the greatest gift God has
given to us.
However, nowadays, people mine old and precious gems to the extent. People
use “kaingin system” and cut down the trees. The people who need Mother Earth are
also the one who destroys it.
Let us come to our senses. Let us all refuse to murder our own
Mother Earth, Let us protect her from all who try to destroy her and take away
her beauty. Let us start now while we still have time.
